Courthouse Art Exhibit
Stephanie Folk - Visual Art & Graphic Design…
Big Stone Arts Council and the Big Stone County Commissioners
are proud to invite the public to view
the paintings of local artist Stephanie (Schulke) Folk at the Big Stone County Courthouse.
Her work will be on display through mid-November.
Stephanie grew up in Big Stone City and is related to two other local artists Mary Taffe and Betty Binsfield. She went to college at Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD where she received a Bachelor of Arts, double majoring in fine arts and graphic design. From there she moved to the cities where she acquired her current job as a graphic designer for Johnson Brothers Liquor Company; Stephanie now works from home designing labels for wine and spirits. She and her husband, Chris Folk, originally of Milbank, were excited to move back to Big Stone last November.
You might recognize the style of these paintings, as this past spring Stephanie displayed paintings of young hands, also from this series, in Java Jule’s art exhibit of the young child.
Stephanie has also enjoyed painting cats and other subjects. She dabbles in watercolor and photography but right now her graphic design career keeps her busy. Stephanie is open to doing commissions and small design jobs. To inquire about either or to purchase a painting you may contact Stephanie at stephaniefolk@gmail.com or 952-607-8317.
